Get The Body You Want In Our Forums!

Writter by author
December 11th, 2009

workout20104Okay I’d better qualify that a little bit, or I’ll get myself into trouble!  I’m on the forums every day at Team Beachbody, and it would be great to see you there.  But there is a whole bunch of other great people there too, and we all pretty much share our experiences and keep each other going by sharing our experiences.

If you’re thinking about joining Team Beachbody, it might seem a little weird that we have a forum where everyone hangs out and gets to know each other.  But if you do join, you should think of it as your support network.  I know plenty of people who might have been feeling a little less motivated than they normally do… but after stopping by the forums they’ve picked themselves up and got on with their latest workout.

I can’t tell you how good it is to hear from people who are becoming an active part of Team Beachbody.  Take a look at my thread and you’ll see what I mean.  It’s great to hear how people are getting on with their weight loss and exercise programs.  And I’m there as your Team Beachbody Coach to help guide and support you every step of the way!

And you know, I get motivated just reading what some of our members have achieved.  I know that the forums are the perfect place to inspire and educate each other, as well as sharing our successes wherever they happen.  Why don’t you join us too?  At the end of the day your ideal body is in the workouts we have and the healthy food we promote, but the forum can make all the difference when it comes to perking you up!

Hey, sometimes we all need a little bit of that, don’t we?  We all get days where the road to getting our ideal body seems very easy to negotiate.  And then there are the days we’d rather forget.

But whichever day you’re having now, make sure you come and share it with others who are on the same journey.  You’ll notice the benefits when you do!

Get Quoting!

Writter by author
December 11th, 2009

Iworkout20102f you’ve been following me on the forums at Team Beachbody you might have come across a few quotes that I’ve been peppering into the mix.  Take this one for example – it’s a real favorite:

“The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.”

John Powell

Isn’t that great?  You know if you’re reading this blog and you’re beating yourself up because you never seem to be able to shift the weight you want to be rid of, read that quote again!  It really sums up what so many of us have done in the past.

We try and lose weight or get some exercise, and we fail.  But we just go ahead and try again without making any changes.  Of course, trying to lose weight and not succeeding isn’t really a mistake – not in the sense that we were wrong to try.

But if you’re looking for some inspiration then quotations are a great place to get it.  And you can stick them up on a sticky note where you can see them and benefit from them every day too!  Here’s another one I love:

“Efficiency is doing things right.  Effectiveness is doing the right things.”

Peter Drucker

So are we all going to be efficient as well as effective today?  I sure hope so!  I find that’s a great quote to keep in mind when I’m aiming to do a workout, or maybe fix a healthy meal for the evening.  If we can all be efficient and effective, then we can expect great results as we jog through each day ahead of us.

If you follow my thread on the Team Beachbody forums, you’ll know that I pop in a quote a day to keep you all on your toes! But you should try exploring the web and finding a few good ones of your own too.  In fact, why not come and share them with us?  If there’s a particular quote that gets you fired up and ready to burn some calories on your next workout, let us all know!

Quotes have a habit of boiling something complicated down into something simple.  It’s like a nugget of knowledge that really tells you how things are.  And the best ones are there to be shared too.  So let’s get sharing and feel the benefit!

Watch Out for Sabotage

Writter by author
December 11th, 2009

As hard as it is to believe, not everyone in your life will be happy for you when you decide to lose weight. In fact, the reactions you get from some people can range from mocking to downright hostile. You have to be prepared for these reactions, and refuse to let them put a damper on your desire to get into better shape.

And then there are the saboteurs. These are the friends and family members who might act supportive while subtly (or not so subtly) trying to sabotage your efforts.

How will they try to undermine you? Well, they might wave your favorite dessert under your nose, even though they know you are trying to cut back. Or they will invite you to go somewhere really fun even though they know it will be during your regular workout time.

How do you deal with saboteurs? Well, you don’t have to get aggressive or confrontational about things. Just stand firm in the face of their undermining efforts. Refuse that dessert, no matter how good it looks. Recommend going to that really fun place some other time. Through your actions, let them know that you are truly committed to changing your life for the better, and their attempts to make you stray off course won’t succeed.

Make a Workout Date

Writter by author
December 11th, 2009

workout20106When many people start working out, they aren’t all that firm about when they will actually do it. In fact, just getting started can be a major chore. They’ll start tomorrow. Or maybe the next day. Or perhaps some time next week. Then, after they have actually done their first workout, they have only vague ideas about when they will do the next one. As a result, they often end up only exercising when it happens to cross their minds, which could end up being as little as once or twice a week.

Unfortunately, many of us fail to look at getting fit as a real goal. But that’s exactly what it is. Like learning to play the piano, getting fit is something you will have to work at over a period of time in order to achieve your desired result. You wouldn’t expect to learn the piano by practicing whenever the mood struck you. And the same applies to weight loss.

So set solid dates for when and how often you will work out. Will you work out 3 days a week? Or four or five? On exactly which days? And at what times?

Start looking at your workouts as dates you refuse to break. Set a workout routine and stick with it. And soon, exercising will become a habit that will help keep you on the road to weight loss success.  Check out our Team Beachbody Free Club and start your journey now.
